4th parade buckets

No matter what happens today or tomorrow, I still love my country. I’m looking forward to a great holiday!

I remember going to my hometown’s parades and collecting a t-shirt full of candy. One year during high school, my clown troupe from church entered the parade. We ran up and down the streets playing gags (like a flower that squirted water), juggling, and doing magic tricks. Our group even won 1st place for best parade entry! It was the most exciting parade ever.

This year, I wanted to build a fun memory for my kids (Kedron and I no longer do magic and clowning).

So here is my idea for the kids and 4th of July! Get a $1 mini bucket from a place like Target. Fill with mini flags, 4th themed sunglasses, bandanas for boys, flip flops for girls, and a star shaped bubble necklace. Everything they need for a fun parade! They can even use the bucket to collect their candy.

What’s your favorite parade memory or 4th of July tradition?
