2 Great books for Tweens {Giveaway}

December 8, 2014 by Amelia

Just Sayin’: Write ‘Em, Draw ‘Em, Hide ‘Em in Your Heart and Dare U 2 Open This Book: Draw It, Write It, Dare 2 Live It are new devotional books geared for kids ages 8-12. Written by Carol McAdams Moore, and published by Zonderkidz, these are sure to become kid classics.

When our package of books arrived, my kids looked over my shoulder as I unpacked the books. As soon as I pulled the paper off, they exclaimed, “Oooh, cool, let me see!”

They snatched the books out of my hands, sat down at the table, and spent the next thirty minutes thumbing through the book, reading the devotionals and oohing and ahhing over the activities.

Devotional books captured their attention for a half hour. That’s no surprise for my almost-ten-year-old girl, but for an eight-year-old boy? All I can say, is get copies for all the 8-12 year-olds you know.

For two fortunate readers, I have books to give away! Be sure to enter the drawing at the bottom of this post!!

Just Sayin’ is geared for girls, and Dare U 2 Open This Book is written for boys. Each book features 90 devotionals, but these aren’t your average devotions. With each devotional, the kids interact with the featured verse in creative ways that are sure to help them apply, remember, and live out the Scriptures. From writing poems, drawing, cutting out pictures, to answering fun questions, each book supplies plenty of ways to engage kids’ hearts and minds.

With relevant topics, quotes, and Scripture, plus doodles, journal prompts, lists, puzzles, quizzes, fill-in-the-blank prayers, or unique activities. They explore Bible truths and ways to apply them—everyday. Just Sayin’ and Dare U 2 Open This Book challenge girls & guys to follow Jesus every day. Best. Idea. Ever. Amazon.com

What kid wouldn’t love a devotional that looks like this?

Or encourages them to do this?

Seriously, I want my own copy. Can I pretend I’m 12?

If you’re looking for the perfect stocking stuffer to encourage a tween to learn more about Jesus this year, these books are the gift to give. I gave a copy each to my niece and nephew at Thanksgiving. When they opened the books, my kids said, “Those books are so cool! You’re gonna love those!”

Thanks to Zonderkidz, I have 1 copy each of Just Sayin’ and Dare U 2 Open This Book to give away! Fill out the form below to enter. Winners will be drawn and announced on Friday. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.

*Zonderkidz provided these books for me to review. All opinions are my own. Well, and my kids’.

    I think both look good. My 7 year old daughter is really enjoys art, but is below the target range. I think she would enjoy this though. I’m pretty sure my son would enjoy the boy’s one. If I had to chose, I’d pick the girl’s.
